If you are considering how language training could benefit you

or your company, the case studies below should help you

to make a positive step in the right direction.

CLIENT A:

This client is a product support engineer for a large

multinational company. He took 60 hours of French

tuition in 2008-2009, leading to a GCSE. Grade A was

achieved. Since his job role has changed, Client A will

now need to travel to Germany on a regular basis.

He has therefore embarked on a 60-hour German

course and plans to take a GCSE or possibly AS level

exam in 2011. One of our experienced native German-

speaking tutors with qualified teacher status is ensuring

that he is well-equipped for his examination.

CLIENT B:

Client B is a sales director for a large company dealing

at an international level and travels to Germany on a

regular basis. Although he described himself as "not

a natural linguist", his aim was to improve his very

basic level of German in order to feel more comfortable

in practical situations whilst abroad, such as shops,

restaurants and hotels. A 20-hour German course has

made a significant contribution towards achieving this

goal and a further course is planned to consolidate

learning in the near future.

CLIENT C:

Having lived and worked in France, Client C had acquired

a good level of fluency. However, she had learned "from

scratch" and felt a gap in terms of grammatical background

and business conventions.

She was awarded a training grant and embarked on an

18-hour advanced French course with one of our

native-speaking tutors, who also has qualified teacher

status.

CLIENT D:

Client D owns a business which imports tomatoes and other

tinned products from Italy. Although he had been learning

Italian independently, he felt that he needed the support and

motivation that a native-speaking, experienced tutor can

bring. After 6 months of lessons, Client D has made

significant progress in terms of passive understanding

and productive speaking in Italian.

 CLIENT E:

Staff who work for a very famous household name are lucky

enough to be offered free language courses for leisure and

as part of a lifelong learning initiative. Since 2009, groups

of employees have been learning Polish, Spanish, French

and Greek in blocks of several weeks at a time to fit around

their shifts and family life.

 CLIENT F:

In April 2010, The Language Corner embarked on an exciting

new project, after being approached by a Polish company

which arranges visits to the Midlands by Polish college

students.  As part of their 3-week programme, an intermediate

business English course was required.  In conjunction with

one of our experienced ESOL tutors, this was designed

specifically with the group of young people in mind and

successfully delivered.  A second group will arrived in

August 2010, whose stay was equally successful.
